The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that draws so many fans into the NFL

That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen try too much or was it just a bad day for Buffalo?

Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an surprising result - and display

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg laid by one of the league's top offences

Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two scores

Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5-yard average

Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter fumble that Miami converted to a touchdown just later

It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Josh Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season

Miami have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers next week as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East

In Focus - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Speaking of the Patriots, they're among three different 8-2 squads in the league, all AFC teams, but could they be the top team?

One could pick holes in New England, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins achieved against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Denver

Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time success in Orchard Park seems like a statement

Their pair of losses came in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive victories, similar to Denver, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was significant

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely earns credit for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his side to victory

The defense is reliable and rookie rusher Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this year on his first score

While you can argue who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the top record thanks to their schedule - which includes just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jaguars to face. There's a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a shock top seed in the AFC

Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seahawks and Rams, who each scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of the upcoming major game between the pair in Los Angeles

They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Darnold performing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a game

Both could realistically be undefeated as well - especially the Rams as their pair of losses came in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the final play deflected and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year to date
