Brian Eno Encourages Support to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of acclaimed names from the music world. All took part in the September show, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a trio of producers and composers. The song features a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The group managing the initiative have clarified that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a spokesperson explained. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the area was noted for its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of buildings reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The track is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
