Your Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to Your Astrological Sign
The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement across the community. From the one-by-one reveal of newcomers before the game's release, to players developing strong views on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to anticipate.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique appearances that highlight their traits, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
Aries – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries far more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the good side of both and benefit from a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its regular and Mega form, has aided many players in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a firm belief – will stand up for their side to the end. What about Mega Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed passion for snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries note their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it uses its horn to collect it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Look at this total queen. You cannot convince me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless fountain of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to envision Super Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s official description also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which seems very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate sign known for often getting wrapped up in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the creature with a “huge amount of energy, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to create a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was going to pick Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the fact that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being too fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Players couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the same energy a Leo brings to the table. This Pokémon is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, even if for aliens.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a always surprised expression like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden sends to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a strategy.
Libra – Mega Audino
Observe this sweet, empathetic creature, who employs the sensors on its ears to detect how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Super Audino's abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them worry even more about others.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
Banette is a creature with a unexpectedly sad origin: Discarded as a doll, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and swore revenge on its former owner. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like many discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves karma and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a performance. Being a Archer myself, the number of occasions I’ve called myself some version of a “playful small entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee disasters ahead of time? That gives the exact same energy as a Capricorn, who tends to consistently believe they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Aloof element Water Bearer is arguably the non-flame placement that is most like a fire sign – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire typing matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general intimidating aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
